With the closing of the Downing and Washington/Emerson exits, University Blvd has become the primary access exit to most of the Wash Park area. The turn lane from northbound University to westbound Alameda is incredibly short and there is no turn arrow. Add the fact that no left turns to the west are allowed along most of University between I-25 and Alameda, and the turn onto Alameda becomes critical. I've witnessed backups of 6-8 blocks on University due to the short turn lane (only 2-3 cars fit in the lane), and lack of turn arrow. With the amount of traffic on Univ. the only opportunity to turn left onto w/b Alameda is after the traffic light turns red, creating a definite hazard.
