Get Involved: Roundup of Washington Park Clubs and Groups

If you’re new to the Washington Park neighborhood, you may find that it’s not so easy to get out and meet new people. But you’ll be happy to know that residents of Washington Park are some of the nicest and most welcoming in all of Denver, you just need to know where to find them!

We’ve put together a list of the tops clubs and groups to join in Washington Park, so you’ll be able to meet your friendly neighbors and have some fun too!

MOMS of Wash Park

The MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club of Wash Park is the perfect way to meet other families and stay-at-home moms in the Washington Park neighborhood. Moms who are new to the area will find support in the group, as well as fun get-togethers and play dates for the kiddies.

Who you’ll meet there: Stay-at-home moms and working moms, generally in their 30’s with small children. But all ages are welcome!

Denver Croquet Club

Croquet is as much a social event as it is a sport. And the Denver Croquet Club makes sure to include plenty of socializing opportunities for its members (think champagne, big flowery hats and celebrating the Queen’s birthday), as well as croquet competitions and classes. If Lawn Bowling is more your thing, the Croquet Club does have a sister club, the Washington Park Lawn Bowling Club.

Who you’ll meet there: This group tends be an older, more mature crowd, but an AARP card isn’t a requirement! If you love croquet, you’ll be more than welcome.

Wash Park Pub Run

If running around Washington Park, doing free yoga, eating free healthy food and drinking 2 x 1 beers sounds AWESOME to you, then you should definitely check out the Wash Park Pub Run every Wednesday evening up until Halloween.

Who you’ll meet there: Anyone over drinking age, usually health nuts and beer lovers. So pretty much the best people on earth!

Wash Park Weenies

This exclusive group celebrates all the greatness and cuteness of those little itty-bitty weenie dogs that we all love. Bring your Daschund to make some new doggie friends, watch the Daschie parade, and chat with other owners to get health and well-being tips for these little poochies.

Who you’ll meet there: All ages are welcome! You’ll be sure to see a lot of weenie dogs, but your other family pets are welcome as well.

Washington Park Tennis Club

This adult tennis club features discounted tennis trips, tournaments and access to other fun events. You’ll be joining a 50 year old association with more than 300 tennis players who range from amateurs to professionals.

Who you’ll meet there: All players are 18+ and range in level and skills. You’ll find players who like to just have fun, and you’ll find some real competitors too!

Craft Night

Fancy Tiger Crafts on Broadway hosts a weekly craft night to get together fellow crafters and warm up the glue guns. Bring your project in and collaborate with others while listening to music and having fun.

Who you’ll meet there: Must be 16+ to join, although the average age group is around 20-30. Grandma’s are of course welcome – they always know the best tips and secrets!
